Shopping
Unique jewelers and gift shops are plentiful on Sanibel and
Captiva Islands. The artfully decorated shopping centers seem like
community parks and the treasures inside are even more beautiful.
Sanibel's subdued elegance attracts fantastic fashions for both day
and evening, and art galleries are filled with examples of the
island's windswept shores and natural beauty. Captiva's tropical
island vibe is host to eclectic shops featuring locally-designed
decorations, clothing and accessories. You'll also find
international galleries and out-of-the-way boutiques filled with
designer originals.

Wildlife Excursions!
There are two non-profit wildlife and nature organizations
headed on Sanibel which provide relief and sanctuary for the
endless variety of wildlife in the area. Both Sanibel-Captiva
Conservation Center and Care and Rehabilitation of Wildlife
(C.R.O.W.) provide tours and educational programs to the islands'
residents and tourists. The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Center,
while dedicated to conserving Sanibel's natural resources, furnish
walking trails, a marine touch tank and a nature store to the
public. Acting as a veterinary hospital, C.R.O.W. works to
rehabilitate and restore sick and injured animals back to their
native, wild habitat. C.R.O.W. receives animals from the entirety
of South Florida and both participate in wildlife studies and
sponsor educational programs and tours.

Cultural Arts
This includes the Sanibel Historical Museum, the J. Howard Wood
Theatre, the Schoolhouse Theater, the Sanibel Festival and island
art galleries. Another great organization is Big Arts. This is a
non-profit, volunteer organization. It presents gallery exhibits,
workshops and classes, musical performances, an annual art fair,
and various other community programs.
